Revlon Lily with LA Splash Baby Octopus and GITA!

Today I have one of my favorite cremes, Revlon Top Speed Lily. It has an awesome formula and the color is amazing. Try this one out if you can, it's totally worth the $6!

Here it is with LA Splash Baby Octopus. This is a holographic glitter polish with circle and octagon glitter.

Here it is with my favorite, Lippmann Glitter in the Air!

Thanks for lookin'!

Teal Franken

Today I have a teal franken that I made a while ago. I made this one using NYC Kisses, Wet n Wild Black Creme and an LA Colors Color Craze blue that I had lying around. The sparkles come from NYC Kisses, and I'm in love with them! Everything was under a dollar, too: I bought the LA Colors polish at the dollar store, and bought the NYC polish in a two pack at the dollar store as well. Wet n Wild Wild Shines are already 99 cents to begin with, and Rite Aid had a deal a while ago to get two for 99 cents, so I stocked up! Cheap frankening is my favorite by far.

Here's a bottle shot. You can see the shimmer really well in this one.

Thanks for stopping by!

OPI La Boheme

Hey everyone! Long time no see. Sorry about that- life got in the way. I'm not going to make any promises about posting regularly, but I completely lost interest in nail polish in the past couple months and it's just now starting to come back. I have a couple pictures I never got around to putting up on here which I'll cue up to post in the next couple of days.

Here's OPI La Boheme. She's a multifaceted beauty! I tried getting La Boheme at different angles with my camera, and experimented with different kinds of light. Here were my results. I'm sure most of you have seen this polish before, but I hope that my pictures show what it looks like in person more accurately than others I've seen.

Here's a "boring" shot under my OTT light. Nothing special going on here.

Here she is with different tilts. You can really see the green and gold in these pictures, especially on the left side of my nails!

Finally, under direct sunlight at different angles. It kind of reminds me of embers glowing in a freshly put-out fire. Cozy but beautiful :)

Thanks for still checking out my blog while I've been gone- I noticed I accumulated 200 followers during my absence. You guys ROCK!! Thank you!

China Glaze Hey Sailor

Ahoy! This is a really, really pretty one-coater red. If you buy any red, I would buy this one! it's sooo easy to apply and it's very pigmented. This was one coat of awesomeness.

Thanks for looking!

Milani Rad Purple

This is 5 coats of Milani Rad Purple. It's a really pretty purple jelly- reminds me of grape juice! It has a weird matte finish though, which kind of showed in the first picture on my pointer and middle fingers.

Ulta After Party

Long time no see! I've been really busy with school/being tired 24/7, so I haven't been focusing on updating as much as I should be. Not sure if my franken thing will happen now... I can't really get myself to make them! I may do it today because I'm feeling pretty energized, but we'll see if that actually happens :)

This is Ulta After Party, on it's own. I think this was 4 coats. It's a really pretty pink and red glitter!

Hope you guys are well!

Revlon KHAKIzing

Hello, world! This is a polish a friend gave me a couple weeks ago. I didn't realize how much I loved this until I put it on... the duochrome is prominent in the bottle, but not as prominent as in person. Take a look!

Now look what it looks like at the right angle...

Crazy bright neon green! I love how unique this polish is. Unfortunately, it's long discontinued and was limited edition in the 90's (I think?). In any case, it was really nice of her to give it to me and I love it!

OPI Hungary for my Honey

Have you guys ever wanted or bought a nail polish just for its name? That was the sole reason I bought OPI Hungary for my Honey. I thought the color was fugly when I saw swatches of it online, but I thought since I am Hungarian I had to have this color. I was happily surprised when I put it on... the color aint half bad! It reminds me of paprika, which I'm sure is what they were trying to go for. Fun fact- OPI was actually started by a Hungarian!

Franken Using Maybelline Colorama #40 Frosty Pink

Hi! I wanted to show you all this franken I made. I used a whole bottle of Maybelline Colorama Frosty Pink in it. Here's my recipe:

-1 bottle of Frosty Pink
-8 drops of China Glaze First Mate
-5 drops of Wet n Wild Black Creme

I love it! These swatches are over two coats of First Mate. My camera was being really weird and didn't show how deep this polish really is... to be honest, it's almost black but it's definitely blue. It's a blue-black!

 Here's a picture that's a bit more color accurate:

Here are some pictures that are also a little bit more color accurate where you can see the shimmer. I think I need to put this one on again! :)

Let me know if you replicate this and what you think of it! I think I'm going to hoard Frosty Pinks... they look *great* in frankens.

China Glaze Pelican Grey and Revlon Colada Fizz

Hey everyone! Quick update on the franken situation - I haven't made all of them yet because I've had so much work and because I've been sick. I think I'll only have 7 of each in this batch, and I'll make more of whichever people request the most. Just wanted to clue you guys in.

This is China Glaze Pelican Grey, two coats, on its own.

Then I topped it with Revlon Colada Fizz. I really like this combo - it reminds me of Illamasqua Raindrops! That's one of my major lemmings, and I'm glad that I didn't have to pay UK shipping to get something similar.

I hope everyone has a good day today!

China Glaze Ahoy!

Long time no see! Sorry about that! I've been really sleepy lately and I have a lot of schoolwork to catch up on. This is two coat of China Glaze Ahoy, but I could have gotten away with one. It's basically a one-coater!

Here's a comparison of Ahoy and China Glaze Strawberry Fields. Ahoy is on my pointer and middle fingers and Strawberry Fields is on my ring and pinkie fingers. Ahoy doesn't have the same shimmer as Strawberry Fields, as you can tell, and Strawberry Fields is much lighter.

9/8/11

Revlon Carbonite

This is Revlon Carbonite, two coats. I was iffy about buying it but I'm so glad I did! It wasn't hard for me to apply at all, as some people have said.

9/6/11

China Glaze First Mate and White Cap

School has started, and it's actually not as bad as I remember it being! Things haven't started to pick up yet, so I may still be able to post regularly. Right now I have a ton of pictures but no time to write a little blurb about them like I am right now... that will be the only thing holding me back :) I finished most of my frankens over the long weekend, so those will probably be ready by this weekend! Exciting stuff!

This is one coat of China Glaze First Mate. It's a little darker than how it showed on camera, for some reason my camera lightens things up quite a bit. It's a very pretty one coater :)

Then things got crazy and I put China Glaze White Cap over it. I'm not sure how I feel about this, honestly!

OPI Road House Blues + Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure

I bought Road House Blues because I heard it was a dupe for OPI Sapphire In the Snow. I can't compare the two, but I do really like Road House Blues! I wish it was a little more purple, however. I messed up on this mani so I put Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure over it all, lol... I think it looks good!

9/3/11

HAREpolish Pegasus

Wassuuup, another HAREpolish! This one is Pegasus, and I love this too! I layered two coats of this over OPI Do You Lilac It? Not much to say, the pictures say it all!

Back to school mani!

Ugh, school starts today. :( I decided to add some happiness to my otherwise dreary day by buying some Sephora nail strips! These are in Chinese Blossom and were $12. I LOVE them. I wrapped my nails with Gelous and Seche Vite over them to make sure they wouldn't peel.

Hope everyone who is going to school has a great first day, and I hope it's as stress-free as possible for all you moms!
